Leni Robredo tinawag si Manila Times columnist Rigoberto Tiglao na 'purveyor of fake news'

Vice President Leni Robredo has accused Manila Times columnist Rigoberto Tiglao as a purveyor of fake news after erroneously reporting she had a hand in the European Parliament’s resolution against the drug k!llings under President Duterte’s watch.

Robredo tweeted that she has never talked to any European politician about the war on drugs during her recent visit to Germany.

“Another FAKE NEWS ALERT. Don’t read his columns nor do I know him. One thing I can say is he definitely is a purveyor of fake news,” Robredo tweeted.

“Never saw or spoke or communicated with a single EU official or representative while I was in Germany,” she said.

Robredo vented her ire at Tiglao after apparently reading his recent newspaper column titled “I’m fuming mad at the European Parliament and the Liberal Party.”

Citing sources, Tiglao, former spokesman of then President Gloria Macapagal- Arroyo, wrote that the European Parliament resolution calling for an end to the extrajudicial k!llings (EJK) in the country was made possible by the “efforts of the Liberal Party and its foreign supporters, the German Friedrich Nauman Foundation and the Liberal International’s affiliated parties in the European Parliament.”
